Bring the Proper Salvage Certifications
For Salvage Vehicle Transfers:
Please bring your Application for Salvage certificate (DMV Reg 488C). If you don’t have a salvage title certificate, fill out an application here.
For Junk Vehicle Transfers:
Please bring a DMV reg form 262 with an acquisition number written on the upper right hand corner of the 262.
Complete Other Required Certifications
In order to process your transfer, the following certifcations are required for the vehicle before coming to Redline Registration:
- Brake & light certificate
- Must be completed by an authorized station
- VIN verification
- Previously salvaged California vehicles being re-registered for on-highway use may be inspected by an authorized DMV employee or referred to the California Highway Patrol (CHP)
- Previously salvaged nonresident vehicles being re-registered for must be referred to the CHP for inspection.
- Smog certificate
